Colores all Year Long

It's been oddly warm in NYC these past couple of days, and if you know me then you know I rarely follow "traditional style rules." Por ejemplo (For instance), I wear white all year round, if its warm enough in November, I will wear a wedge (Love them!) and I definitely am not a ONLY black wearing New Yorker. Color helps me define who I am.  It highlights the natural spunk in my personality.  It allows me to be the colorful Latina that I am and I love it. Colores (Colors) all Year Long!

Aren't these the cutest wedges? What's cuter? I got them for $19 at Nine West. Now, that's Real Real cute. WHOOTY WHOOT!

Detalles (Details): Wedges from NIne West, Gap Skinny Jeans, Zara open back sweater (tune in to see how I remix this puppy!), H&M denim shirt, Forever 21 flower brooch.

XOXO,
Roxy

SH*TS and Giggles

Hello Mis RoxStars!!
I haven't blogged in some time and I apologize for that! But I must say I love when you guys write me and ask "whats up with the blog?" Gracias (Thank you)! That being said, hay mucho (there is lots) happening in my life. Lots of transitions at work, all good stuff, life changes and just things that can easily make us lose track of our dias (days)

All that being said, I am trying my best to get back on the blog train. I have notebooks and inspirational folders filled with tons of ideas and plans for the blog, pero (but) as previously mentioned, I MUST FIND TIME TO GET TO THEM ALL!! I am confident that 2013 will bring great things for The Roxy Report and I hope you stick around for it all.

Now, back to the matter at hand, today's post. Se me olvido completamente de estas fotos (I totally forgot I had these images).  A few weeks back my girlfriend Rima had her bridal shower (she has since gotten married! I told you I was busy!).  I have had the honor of calling Rima mi buen amiga (a very good friend) since we met in London. We were both studying in an amazing city and hit it off immediately. Distance between us and more than 10 years later, Rima and I always make it a point to catch up and pick up right where we left off. When I look at my life I am blessed with some really amazing friends.  They are spread out all over the world and we don't see one another often, but when we do, we literally pick up as if we had just been together. Soy muy agradecida por eso (I am beyond thankful for that)

The Roxy Report's chief photographer (Thanks Love! LOL!) was able to snap a few shots of me as I left for the shower...

Detalles (Details): Nine West Booties Circa 2011, Target polka dot jeans, Zara Lime Sweater, Gap Cargo jacket (My fav go to piece.  My sister handed it down to me because I stole it from her so much!) and Cole Haan Frames.

XOXO,
Roxy

Walking my Baby

My days have been so hectic! I have not been blogging as much as I would like, but life happens. With work, traveling, my niece and My doggie Sandy, nunca tengo tiempo (I never have enough time). Uhhh my Sandy, she is such a doll! I am not a dog person by any means, but she has brightened every day for the last 8 years.

About this look: I really love the juxtaposition within the bordeaux color family. Ahhh I just love that word, bordeaux. So rich.
This look was actually selected as a TJMaxx look of the week, fun right?

XOXO,
Roxy

Ohh how I love Summer's in the City...

An oldie but a goodie.
Only in New York, do you go to dinner and end up in the middle of a movie set. Gotta Love It.

These Shoes were Made for Voting

Nuestro Presidente (Our President), Barack Obama, fue electo (was elected) for a second term on Tuesday, November 7, 2012 and I couldn't be happier. I marched my way over to my polling center on 134th Street, waited in line while I played solitaire and filled in my little Obama/Biden bubble con felicidad en mi corazon (with JOY in my heart). For me, it's not about black or white, republicano o democrata. It's about lo mejor para mi (what's best for me). The better of the two candidates. It's about mi hermana (my sister) being able to have health care while she pursues her dreams as a freelance artist. It's about promoting Paz como una nacion (Peace as a nation) for the first time since the Bush administration. It's about the middle class. It's about my thoughts, beliefs and body being protected and acknowledged como mujer (as a woman). And so on and so on.

With much respect to any opinions, Mi Candidato Gano (MY CANDIDATE WON) and I couldn't be happier. People in Harlem were cheering from their cars and balconies.  Our unspecified shouts were immediately acknowledged by each other. It's as if we were yelling with relief. OBAMA OBAMA OBAMA!

Now that our President Obama won a second term, it's our turn to pray for him and his family. Support them by being good Americans to one another every day, all day, not only during a Hurricane. The key to a better tomorrow lies within each and every one of us.
One vote, one voice, does count.

After the Storm...Another Storm

I haven't blogged in some time.  There has been so much going on. Hurricane Sandy really hit the Northeast hard and we have been trying to recover ever since. Personally, we were very blessed, but we are praying and doing our part to help our neighbors.
Sandy drools, New York Rules (thanks Seich)! We will get through this together.

Y que paso hoy (And what happened today) another storm. Una tormenta de nieve (A snow storm)!! Por la primera ves (For the first time) this season, I was forced to dust off my puffer coat. So I had to bust out the bubble, but who says you can only wear boots in the winter? Yo no (Not me). I purchased these Nine West blue suede shoes on sale recently (just realized I love blue suede shoes and have a ton...problem? NOPE). They are super cute and comfy, yes believe it. The wedge allows them to be extremely comfortable.

Win Win.

Detalles (Details): F21 Made for California sweater, Gap Camo Pants.

We donated items through a local Harlem organization, but if you would like to help Hurricane Sandy victims please go to the American Red Cross website.
